Fresco had been trading for four years as a pizzeria with a strong takeaway customer base. We were tasked to design an interior space that would better suit the client’s new menu options and desired clientele.

We took advantage of the exterior form and decided to position the seating along the curvature of the exterior wall. This works well in drawing the eye through the interior space and ultimately leading to an open pass showcasing the new kitchen. By frosting all eye level glass we were able to blur and reduced the glare from adjacent buildings and passing cars.

We kept a very rustic and tactile finish. Exposed block work, polished concrete, rough plaster render and sandblasted timbers are used throughout the interior. The Edison low level bulbs allowed us to use multiple lighting options for both a practical and aesthetic approach without overpowering the space with bright light.
