Our clients Leslie (ex-sous chef at Baduzzi) and Mo (ex maitre d' at Merediths) had been looking for a space for just over a year and settled on an old tattoo parlour on Karangahape Road in Auckland.
The site had a number of different levels but was extremely long in relation to its width. Creating an interior that allowed for the optimal amount of seating, bar area with leaners was particularly challenging.
Leslie and Mo wanted to recreate the unique culture of French eating and drinking. The informal drinking and dining option at Apéro with a rustic interior embodies the relaxed and social aspects of French dining.
We designed and detailed the back of house as well as produced a variety of seating and bar options for the interior. Leslies’ father (Pascal Hottiaux) came from France to create the interior fit out with a high level of craftsmanship and incredible attention to detail in creating what is a truly unique interior.
